I was drawn into the Social Construction of Reality after reading Invitation to Sociology. The latter opened my eyes to the fascinating world of sociology, transforming the way I saw the world. This book takes it a step further, detailing a very sophisticated vision of the world, where reality is constantly constructed and created through the mutual interactions of human beings. The sociology of knowledge has historically emerged when it was realized that the cognitive activity was also determined by other factors and that it is important to study how they operate. The Social Construction of Reality is an ample and remarkable general theory of culture and society, but it does not solve the problems of the pre-Berger and Luckmann sociology of knowledge, nor does it make them irrelevant. This book is concerned with the sociology of everything that passes for knowledge in society .
